Link grouping allows you to assign tags to individual links in your campaigns.

A single link can have several different link groups attached to it, the benefit of using link grouping is that you are able to segment your data based on a particular group of links.
If you use external dynamic content blocks within your emails and they contain links, this will allow you to track them without having google analytics set up on your Smart Messenger account.
For example if you have three different links that go through to offers on cat food, cat toys and dog food, you could add the link group names 'cats' and 'dogs'.
Smart Messenger does have the functionality to remember names of the link groups that you have used in previous campaigns.
You can also filter your click reporting by link groups, so if you've got an offer on cat food you can segment on people who have clicked links which are part of the 'cat' link group in the last '60 days' and send your offer to them.
