You are looking at your email campaign report and you see that you have had a few hard bounces so what is a hard bounce?
A hard bounce is where there is a permanent issue with the email address you are trying to send to.
There are a number of reasons for a hard bounce including
- A typo in the email address
- The email address no longer exists
- The email address is incorrect
- The domain name is misspelt
- The domain name no longer exists
- The mail server has blocked you
Smart Messenger automatically removes hard bounces from your contact lists and places them in your suppression list. This means that you don't email them again and you also have a record of all of your hard bounces.
Your email campaign report in Smart Messenger gives you details of all of your bounces so you may wish to contact people to see if you can obtain a new / correct email address for them so they do not miss out on your email campaigns.
