Smart Messenger provides a complete data management service.

Smart Messenger allows you to upload address books with ease. You can see the activity of any individual or range of contacts within a few mouse clicks and you will never have to worry about sending any duplicate emails or accidently sending to an unsubscribed contact. Smart Messenger takes care of it all.

Duplicates

It is easy to duplicate data so one of the many checks Smart Messenger performs is a duplicate check. If you upload any duplicate contacts these will be shown in your upload report and only one of the records will be added to your address book. If you choose to send to multiple address books and a contact appears in more than one of them, Smart Messenger will know this and will only send the email to them once.

Unsubscribes and hard bounces

These are handled automatically. When a contact chooses to unsubscribe or if an email bounces we automatically add this contact to your suppression list. If you try and upload any contacts on your suppression list you will see this in your upload report and Smart Messenger will not send any emails to them.

Suppression lists

In addition to the above, you can manually add an individual or a list of contacts to your suppression list. So if you have been using another system you can simply move your previous bounces and unsubscribes over to Smart Messenger. You can also suppress certain domains, so if you do not wish to email someone @competitor.com just suppress the domain and Smart Messenger will do the rest.

Personalisation and targeting

A standard Smart Messenger account lets you store up to 10 pieces of personal data per contact and if you need more our enterprise account provides 400. You can use the personal data to personalise your messages, as an example you could do something like:

     Hi {Contact Name}

     We have a special offer for {Contact Company Name}.

     Please confirm that your contact details are:
     {Contact Telephone}
     {Contact Email}

This personal data can also be used for filtering your lists, for example, you may wish to send to all of the ‘Accountants’ in ‘Kent’. As long as you have a business type and location for your contacts this filter can be set up with ease.

Web sign up forms

Create a website sign up form in minutes, simply select the list or lists you wish to add subscribers to. Choose the custom fields you wish them to complete: Name, Company, Telephone, Email and click to generate the code. Insert the code into your website and hey presto one sign up form. Create as many sign up forms as you wish and even set up an automatic thank you message upon completion of the sign up.

Exporting data

You can export your address books, suppression list, segments (filters on your address book) and reports data at any time. So if you wanted to follow up people who have opened and clicked on your latest campaign, just download the data and pick up the phone!
